On September 6, Beijing University of Technology held welcome ceremony for new international students in the room 813, fourth teaching building for the year 2017 fall semester. Prof. Wu Bin, Vice President of BJUT, Prof.Wang Wei Dean of the College of International Education, Prof. Fu Degen, Ms Lu Yuan and all faculties and staffs of the College of International Education along with 332 international students from 69 different countries participated in this event.
At first Vice President, Prof. Wu Binwarmly welcomed international students and briefed the students on the development of school and international development strategy.President Wu encouraged international students to become ambassadors of their own country, to study hard and become a high-quality professional talent with both Chinese feelings and international perspectives; dare to act as a young man with integrity and social responsibility. A doctoral student from Congo Brazzaville 2017 Mr. Ali spoke as a representative of the new international student. He expressed his gratitude to the school in English, Chinese and French, his love of the College of International Education family, and with new student he advised "positive integration, strive to learn and common progress." International students music club chorus school song "tomorrow", won the audience warm applause and cheers, and wish 2017 international students in Beijing University of Technology to write brilliant!
In the subsequent enrollment education, from the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau Exit and Entry Administration Tang Yi police officers to international students to preach Chinese laws and regulations to remind international students to comply with legal requirements, respect for cultural differences, the successful completion of their studies.Teacher from College of International Education Ms. WuDan who deals International studentsaffairsin Office, explained campus life, daily behavioral norms, international student medical insurance. September 2017,the College of International Educationenrolled 332 international students from 69 different countries, out of 332, two-thirds from "one builds one road”. In which 206 is Degree students, 126 non-degree students. Higher education students increased significantly, PhD representing growth of 33%; increasing number of Chinese Government scholarships, doctoral students of overseas universities and research institutions in teaching and research staff at 32.4%.The College of International Educationwill continue to broaden the channels of scholarships, expanding the scale of international students, improving the training level, optimizing the source structure, to contribute and promote the development of internationalization of disciplines.
