On October 25-26, BJUT successfully hosted "2017 Perception of China, Innovation Beijing and Tianjin" activity for the Chinese government scholarship students. This activity is sponsored by the China Scholarship Council. More than 100 Chinese government scholarship students from Beijing University of Technology, Hebei University of Technology and Tianjin University of Technology took part in this activity.

The activity "2017 Perception China, Innovation Beijing and Tianjin" is aiming to help students to understand and experience the scientific and technological innovation and cultural innovation of Beijing and Tianjin. Students visited the Tianjin Airbus A320 assembly plant and Tianjin Membrane Technology Company. As a successful example of international cooperation of China's aviation industry, Tianjin Airbus A320 assembly plant located in Tianjin Binhai New Area, and it is the only assembly plant for Airbus large aircraft outside Europe. In the activities, students feel the efficient and open new look of Chinese economy’s "the third growth pole"---Tianjin Binhai New Area.

In Tianjin Membrane Technology Co., Ltd., students listened to the professional project introduction of the sewage treatment reuse, industrial water supply, desalination, drinking water purification, biological pharmaceutical purification, enrichment and separation. Foreign students feel the strength of China's science and technology, and intuitively understand the industrial system of China.

In the "traditional culture innovation part", students visited the National Palace Museum, and listened to two academic lectures ,the Palace Museum Professor Zhang Hongwei’s "Forbidden City in the East and West academic exchanges" and Professor Guo Meixia’s "Palace of foreigners". Then they visited the Imperial Palace Royal Museum. These activities made international students feel the heritage and innovation of the traditional Chinese culture. "It was very informative. We enjoy it a lot!" Portier Willy Kevin, Ph.D., from the Department of Information Science, said, "It was an amazing trip”。

This is the first time for Beijing University of Technology to undertake the National Study Fund Management Committee’s "Perception of China" activities. Under the background of the development strategy of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei cooperation, our school will strengthen the trans-regional exchange and cooperation among the students, enhance the students' understanding of the scientific and technological innovation enterprises and traditional Chinese culture in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei regions, and feel the technological innovation and coordinated development of China.
