The CIE lecture, series 2 was successfully held by CIE in room 812 of teaching building No.4, on the afternoon of November 6th. This event gathered nearly 90 students coming. Major speaker Mr. Zhou Qian, who was the seniorPalace Museum Instituteresearcher, giving out an excellent lecture to both international students and Chinese students.
Mr. Zhou not only made an English introduction of the intelligence of ancient architecture, but also showed the wonderful ability of quakeproof, fireproof, temperature saving, drainage, and alarm system of Forbidden City. With the nice picturesthat showed from projector, students saw the beauty of structural, colorful,digital, and harmonious of Forbidden City. Mr. Zhou and students worked andtalked together to find out how to protect such a beautiful ancient building. Palace Museum Institute did the research of prevention, and researching fix for the Forbidden City. Students said that compare the visiting of Forbidden City they can more deeply understand theintelligence of ancient Chinese building from the CIE class.
The core ideas of CIE class are innovation, cultural diffusion and evolution. It’s a multi-series class for all international students, and to pass the traditional Chinese culture; help students feel Chinese evolution and the place of this country in the world.
