Dear all international students,
We hope this letter finds you well. The sudden outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus has disrupted your normal life and travelling schedule. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere appreciation for your understanding and support for the measures taken by the Chinese government and Beijing University of Technology to fight against the pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus.
At present, the prevention and control of pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus is the most important task. As requirement of the Chinese government, Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing University of Technology, we firmly put the safety and health of students
and teachers in the first place. In order to curb the spread of the coronavirus, reducing mobility and blocking the routes of transmission are effective measures; wearing masks while going out and washing hands frequently are easy but necessary self-protective measures. Therefore, according to the university’s latest regulations and for the health of the students, the following requirements and suggestions are made:
1. Without application and official approval, none of the students are allowed to return to campus earlier than the yet-to-be-announced beginning date of the spring semester.
2. Keep in touch with your supervisor or program coordinator of your department, and keep them informed of your update situation.
3. For students who live on campus, it is strongly suggested that students leave and enter the campus and dormitories only when necessary. Please avoid participating in group activities. When dining in campus canteens, follow the dining arrangements and keep reasonable space.
4. For students who live off campus, please learn and follow the requirements and regulations of the university and the local community. Avoid going out as well as gatherings, and enhance the consciousness of self-protection.
5. Before returning to your country by flight, please confirm the flight status with the airline company and make sure the flight can take off as scheduled before leaving your residence. During the journey, please wear a mask and take protective measures.
6. Without the approval of Beijing University of Technology, all international students are not allowed to accept interviews with external media (including online media, self-media, etc.); they may not publish information on social media at home or abroad which is not published or approved by the Chinese government public channels.
7. To avoid property loss, improve your security consciousness and beware of fraud message.
8. Follow the instructions and notice issued by Beijing University of Technology, and actively participate in online teaching activities and finish tasks as required.
9. Before you return to the university, College of International Education will organize a series of online cultural communication activities. We expect your participation.
10. Pay close attention to the university’s website and WeChat. Check your email frequently and keep yourself available via phone to learn latest messages and information.
