For the purpose of satisfying the growing demand of the international community for Chinese language teachers and facilitating Chinese language education in other countries, the Center of Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) will continue with the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship in 2023.
Beijing University of Technology provides 4 categories of International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship this year: Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Students, Scholarship for One-Semester Students and Scholarship for Four-Week Study.
· Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizens.
2. Should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and rules and regulations of the school;
3. In good Physical and mental condition,and with a good record of academic performance and conduct;
4. Aspiring to work in the Chinese language education and related fields;
5. Aged between 16 and 35 on September 1st, 2024, with the special allowance for the age limit of 45 for applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers and that of 25 for undergraduate student applicants.

· Scholarship Types and Qualification
1. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study
Commences September 2024, and provides scholarship for maximum 11 months. International students who have benefited from similar scholarships are not eligible.
A. Chinese Language Study
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 in HSK test (Level 3), with HSKK test score preferred.
2. Scholarship for One-Semester Study
Commences either in September 2024 or March 2025, and provides scholarship of maximum 5 months.
A. Chinese Language and Literature
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 in HSK test (Level 3), while HSKK test score required.
3. Scholarship for Four-Week Study
Commences either on July or December of 2024, and provides a four-week scholarship.
A. Chinese Language plus home-stay Experience in a Chinese Family
HSK test score are required. Organized and applied by a recommending institution with 10-15 participants per group. Prior to the trip, a detailed study plan shall be made after consultation with host institutions and submit to CLEC for approval.

D. Proof of employment as well as a reference letter by the employing institution (Applicants currently worked as Chinese language teachers)

A. April 15th (for those commencing in July)

CLEC will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. The results will be published about three months before school starts.
