Beijing University of Technology provides internet services (including email) to the faculty, staff and students. All the LAN ports within the campus are automatically connected to the internal network (campus network) of Beijing University of Technology. The wireless network (WIFI) on campus, with a name "bjut", is also available.

Currently, the charge for campus network service is varied for different classifications of users.

In addition to BJUT campus network, there are also some telecommunication providers offering wireless network connection (WIFI) in international student dormitory area, such as China Tietong, China Unicom and China Telecom, etc.

1.How to get access to Internet in BJUT?

To access the internet, you have to activate your card on the Self-Assistance Machine“资讯通”. The initial password of your Id Card is 000000. It is advised that, you change your password on the first use of your Id card. Then Click “Payment registration for Internet”, you can then access internet. Please logon athttps://lgn.bjut.edu.cn.Both your username and password are your student ID number.

2.How to pay for Internet?

International students are entitled to 8G internet traffic free of charge. For more than 8G, you will be charged RMB 0.01 yuan/MB. There are different packages to choose from athttps://lgn.bjut.edu.cn.Click “账户管理”, and then click “业务办理”，choose your desired package.

Broadband Internet access

Every room of the dormitory has telephone or optical fiber connection. Students based on their needs can purchase ADSL Modem and Campus Unicom sunshine high speed broadband and wireless router to set up their private WIFI.
