2016 Chinese-Foreign Student ‘Learning Partners’ Project between CIE and BDIC Launches Smoothly

In order to enhance international students’ Chinese communication capability, facilitate the mutual assistance between Chinese and foreign students and provide an open and inclusive international and multicultural atmosphere, College of International Education (CIE) and Beijing-Dublin International College (BDIC) jointly designed the ‘Learning Partners’ Project.In the mid-day of September 29th, the Launching Ceremony of 2016 Chinese-ForeignStudent ‘Learning Partners’ Project between CIE and BDIC was held in Room 817of CIE. Mr. WANG Wei, Dean of CIE, Mr. CAI Lijia, Vice Dean of BDIC, teachers incharge of student management as well as student monitors of the 18 freshmen classes of 2016 from the two colleges participated in the launching ceremony. More than 400 Chinese and foreign students from the two colleges will together carry out activities of language promotion and multicultural adaptation in the form of‘friendly classes’.

At the ceremony, Mr. WANG Wei, Dean of CIE, expressed his hope that the ‘Learning Partners’ Project will not only enhance the cooperation between the two international colleges, build an exchange platform between Chinese and foreign students, but also allow the Chinese and foreign students to achieve a win-win result and benefit significantly from all the activities. Mr. CAI Lijia, Vice Dean of BDIC, emphasized that the student monitors of ‘friendly classes’ should be an excellent leader,planner and partner, actively carrying out communication activities between Chinese and foreign students.

During the ceremony, student representatives of the two colleges exchanged gifts and left their fingerprints, making a commitment of ‘helping each otherand building a bridge of friendship’. In the subsequent activities, the student monitors of Chinese and foreign friendly classes completed a finger-painting together. In the process of painting, these monitors gradually became familiar witheach other and the atmosphere became more lively. In the future, they are going to design more activities of learning counseling and extra curricular communication for the friendly classes based on the ‘Learning Partners Mission Instruction’ provided by the instructors so as to develop a new model of campus learning and living.
