In the morning of October 16th, on the occasion of the 56thanniversary celebration of Beijing University of Technology (CIE) and the homecoming day of alumni who graduated 20 years ago , the Establishment Ceremony of BJUT International Alumni Association was held in the 4thteaching building.
President LIU Gonghui, Deputy Party Secretary SHEN Qianfan, Vice President WU Bin attended the ceremony. 11 alumni representatives from all walks of lifeat home and abroad, 80 BJUT international student representatives, heads ofrelated departments and all faculty members of College of International Education (CIE) attended the ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Vice President WU.
President LIU, on behalf of all the teachers and students at BJUT,expressed his warmest welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the international alumni from afar. He said that the establishment of BJUT International Alumni Association is to strengthen the connection between the alumni and alma materand among alumni themselves, to serve the career development of international alumni and the development of the alma mater. BJUT International Alumni Association,as an open platform, is a spiritual home for all international alumni to share success and happiness and communicate friendship and value. It also serves as anemotional bond to stay in touch with the alma mater and other alumni. Heexpressed the hope that all the international alumni could always bear in mind theloving and kindness of the teachers, never forget what the heart wants and moveforward together with the alma mater so as to carry forward the spirit of BJUT.

XIE, post-doc from Faculty of IT, Chairman of the first BJUT InternationalAlumni Association council, delivered a speech on behalf of the internationalalumni. He expressed his gratitude to the alma mater and made a promise that hewould actively carry out his duties in order to promote the variousundertakings of the international alumni association.
During the establishment ceremony, President LIU, Deputy Party Secretary SHENand Vice President WU jointly unveiled the plate for College of InternationalEducation.
Beijing University of Technology recruited its first international studentin 1990. Since then, nearly 10,000 international students from 80 countriesgraduated from BJUT. With the establishment of international alumni associationas a new starting point and in accordance with BJUT’s internationalization strategy,CIE will move on steadily and make greater contribution to building BJUT into aninternational recognized, high-level research university with its uniqueness.
