On 2nd March 2017, 72 international students from 22 countries participated ice breaking activity with 60 Chinese students in Shamrock room. It was jointly organized by College of International Education and Beijing-Dublin International College to launch the Buddy Program in the spring semester 2017.

With graceful music, Irish international student namedBUTLERCHRISTOPHERand Zhao Kun from Beijing-Dublin International College hosted the event together.The first part of the icebreaker was free-talking.Chinese and international students got familiar with each other in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, changing their partners every six minutes.After several rounds of communication, both Chinese and international students have found suitable partners for each other. The second part was to receive a partner task card.Their plan inthis semester is to experience Chinese culture and campus culture, get into the campus life, and improve language skills.Finally,the "partners" took the pencils, and with enthusiasm and intelligence,together designed the ideal logo for Buddy Program. Students who took a part in this activity have had cultural and emotional experience.

Buddy Program is to help communication between Chinese and international students, which is jointly organized by Collegeof International Education and Beijing-Dublin International College.Since its official launch in September 2016, 130 students and 270 Chinese students were involved in the program. They get well with and learn from each other, adapt to and understand the multi-cultural atmosphere, improve language communication and learning ability.This program is made to help international students better adapt to the new cultural environment, faster understanding of the university, integrate into the campus life.At the same time, it also sets up a platform for all students to interact with each other, which can create a good environment for the students to expand their international vision and improve their ability to use the language.
