To all related second levelteaching and research institutions,
In order to encouragethe international students of Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), stimulatetheir study motivation and innovation capabilities and award students with goodmerits and excellent performances, with the designated funding support from Beijing Municipal Government and in the principle of being open, fair, just and performance-oriented, we hereby formally launch the application and review workof the 2016 BJUT Scholarship for international students. Detailed informationis presented as follows:
I.Categories of Scholarship andSubsidy Scope
BJUT Scholarship for international students falls into“Admission Scholarship”,“In-school Scholarship”and“Special Contribution Award”.
1.“Admission scholarship”is used to subsidize newly enrolled continuing-study students, exchange students,undergraduates, postgraduates and PhD students in 2016. The subsidy covers annual full-amount tuition of international students.
2.“In-schoolscholarship”is used to subsidize undergraduates and postgraduates who study in our university for the second year or plus.“In-schoolscholarship”for undergraduates covers annual full-amount tuitionand half-amount tuition.“In-school scholarship”for postgraduates covers annual full-amount tuition.
Scholarship will be distributed according to special fund appropriation of Beijing Municipal Government forthe2016 BJUT Scholarship for international studentsas well as the scale of international students in second level teaching and research institutions. Specific distribution plan is presented in attachment 1.
3.“Special Contribution Award”is used toaward in-school international students who have made outstanding performance inacademic study, sports, art, cultural exchange and public-good activities,including undergraduates, postgraduates and long-term further-study students. Theaward is a one-time scholarship of 5,000 yuan, which goes to no more than 10winners.
II.Review methods
1.“Admission scholarship”is reviewed by certification. College of International Education should providelist of newly registered international students in 2016. Second level teaching and research institutions should organize personnel to certify them.
2.“In-school scholarship”isdetermined by selecting excellent ones or certification. College of International Education should provide list of undergraduates and postgraduates who study at our university for the second year or plus. Winners of“in-schoolscholarship”for postgraduates should be certified by second level teaching and research institutions, but the ones for undergraduates should be selectedand certified by second level teaching and research institutions.
3.“Special contribution award”should be certified by recommendation of excellent ones and reviewed by Collegeof International Education.
III.Applicationconditions and requirements
1. Application requirements of“admission scholarship”:
1) Those who have not obtained any form of scholarship(such as scholarship of Chinese government and scholarship of Confucius Institute”;
2) Those who are friendly to China, observe school regulations and systems, and have not committed any violation to laws ordisciplines.
2. Application conditions and requirements of“in-schoolscholarship”:
1) Those who have not obtained any form of scholarship(such as scholarship of Chinese government and scholarship of Confucius Institute”;
2) Those who suspend schooling or plan to suspend schooling from 2016 to 2017 must not participate in review of the scholarship;
3) Those who are friendly to China, observe school regulations and systems, and have not committed any violation to laws ordisciplines.
3. Application conditions and requirements of“special contribution award”:
1) Overseas students who have been registered in Beijing University of Technology for one year or more;
2) Those who are friendly to China, observe school regulations and systems, and have not committed any violation to laws ordisciplines;
3) Those who have participated in various activitiesof the Ministry of Education, Beijing or our university and won honors for Beijing University of Technology or their colleges;
4) Those who have actively worked for contact,transaction, reception and publicity in international exchange activities of Beijing University of Technology and made outstanding effects;
5) Those who have actively publicized Beijing University of Technology in different forms like online media, producing positive influence;
6) Other special contributions or advanced deeds.
IV.Applicationandreview procedures
1. Application: from October 19 to October 26.
1)“Admission scholarship”:second level teaching and research institutions should organize personnel tocertify winners of“admission scholarship”of overseas students of Beijing University of Technology (attachment 2) in 2016.
2)“In-school scholarship”:second level teaching and research institutions should organize personnel tocertify winners of“in-school scholarship”of postgraduate overseas students of Beijing University of Technology (attachment2) in 2016. Overseas undergraduate students need to fill inApplication of Overseas Students forScholarship of Beijing University of Technology (In-school Scholarship)(attachment3), and submit paper materials to foreign affairs secretary of second level teachingand research institutions. It is review committee of second level teaching and research institutions that organize personnel to review scholarship of overseas students. Applicants of“in-school scholarship”of undergraduate students of Beijing University of Technology in 2016 are presented in attachment 2.
3)“Special contribution award”:overseas students need to fillApplicationof Overseas Students for Special Contribution Award of Beijing University of Technology(attachment 4) by themselves and submitApplicationand other supportive materials to overseas students’affairs office of College of International Education.
2. Second level teaching and research institutions should organize personnel to certify and review applicants from October 27 toNovember 3.
1) Second level teaching and research institutions should organize review committee to review scholarship of overseas students andcertify winners of“admission scholarship”ofoverseas students,“in-school scholarship”of postgraduates and“in-school scholarship”of undergraduates, in Beijing University of Technology in 2016.
Second level teaching and research institutions should, according to results of certification and review, submit paper versions ofList of Winners of“AdmissionScholarship”of Overseas Students of Beijing University of Technology in 2016,Winners of“In-school Scholarship”of Postgraduates of Beijing University of Technology in 2016(attachment2),Summary of Review of“In-school Scholarship”of Undergraduate Overseas Students in Beijing University of Technology in 2016(attachment 5), to overseas students’affairs office of College of International Education.Documents of electronic version should be sent tobpuiec7@bjut.edu.cn.
2) College of International Education should organize personnel to review“special contribution award”of overseas students of Beijing University of Technology in 2016.
3. In-school expert review: from November 4 toNovember 7.
4. Public show of in-school review results: fromNovember 8 to November 10.
5. Scholarship should be issued from November 11 toNovember 15.
