2017 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS
I. PRE-SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS
Time:Since July 31st
Check admission status: new students may login to The Students Management System of Beijing University of Technologyhttp://bjut.17gz.orgto check the admission status. The college will send a "new students’ admission guidance" to student personal E-mails, students can follow the tips to prepare for the school admission.
Reservation of accommodation: new students can book accommodation athttp://bjut.17gz.orgwith application numberbefore August 25th.For any question, please contact us at:Tel: 67391857. E-mail:accommodation@bjut.edu.cn.
Scheduled pick-up service:New students with the application number can book pick-up service athttp://bjut.17gz.org. The scheduled deadline of the pick-up service isAugust 20th.According to the booking, we will arrange daily shuttle bus to pick up new students from the airport terminal T3 to the students’ dormitory on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Shuttle buses will be arranged to pick up the students from the airport to the dormitory three times every day. Volunteers of Beijing University of Technology with a sign "Welcome to BJUT" will be waiting at international arrivals to help taking shuttle buses. II. ACCOMMODATION
1. On-campus accommodation
Time:Since August 20th
New students will be required to submit their admission notice and valid identity documents to check in at the reception of the student dormitory of Beijing University of Technology, (Address: No.100 Pingleyuan, Chaoyang District, Beijing).
Precautions
1) The reception is located at first floor of International Student Dormitory, offering 24/7 service. Tel: 67391590, 67391599. E-mail:accommodation@bjut.edu.cn
2) The rooms in the International Student Dormitory are equipped with bedding. Students are supposed to bring other personal stuff for daily use.
3) International Student Dormitory does not provide family accommodation.
2. Off-campus accommodation
Students who are renting out of school are required to carry their passports within 24 hours of their stay and go to the police station where the residence is located to handle the “Registration for Temporary Residence”. You must submit “Registration for Temporary Residence” to the reception of International Student Dormitory for the days of registration.
III. REGISTRATION
Time: September 4th-5th
Location: New students must submit admission notice together with valid identity documents (Passport) and report to the Beijing University of Technology at the time of school registration. The registration will take place in the north lobby of the first floor of the international student’s dormitory.
1. Payment:New students must pay tuition fees, accommodation, insurance and other expenses (For payments details please consult your admission notice). Only cash payment is accepted.
2. Collection of materials: new students will be given "Campus Life Guide for BJUT International Students", "CIE-BJUT Orientation Schedule for International Students (2017 Fall Semester)" After the registration is complete, they will receive the “BJUT ID Card".
3. For mobile phone cards(SIM cards):With passport, new students are supposed to buy a SIM card.
4. Bank account:New students are supposed to open bank accounts with their passports. Chinese government scholarship students; Confucius Institute scholarship students with the original passport should open the China Construction Bank account (you can find China Construction Bank in the opposite side to the South Gate of the school). Submit your personal account number and account name to the person in charge on Sept.4th-5th. If you don’t submit personal bank account information on time, we can’t guarantee the payment of scholarships on time neither.
5. Student ID:With a passportphoto, degree students can apply foracademicStudent ID.
6. Campus Tour, University History Museum Visit:the date of registration in the designated position to participate voluntarily.
-September 4th, 14: 30-17: 00. (Visit the campus and university history museum)
-September 5th,15: 30-17: 00. (Visit the campus)
IV. VISA
Time:September 4th – 20th
1. Students who hold X1、L visa
(1) Receive a physical examination notice and filling out a Visa/ Stay Permit/ Residence Permit Application Form. Students who need do the examination should reserve for bus seats.
(2) Physical examination:Skip breakfast. Only water is available 4-6 hours before the examination. All students should wait at the gate of student dormitory on 6:50am,September 12th. The bus will take students to the Haidian District International Travel physical examination Health Center. After the physical examination, every student should finish the interview with public security officers in the examination center.
Students come to for long-term of study (one year or more) can get a free of charge for physical examination. Please carry:
-Copy of the school admission notice (need a school stamp);
-Copy of Visa Application Form for Foreign Students (JW201 Form or JW202 Form) (required school seal);
-Copy of valid X1 visa page.
Physical examination results are supposed to mail to "Beijing University of Technology International College, the fourth teaching building room 814". (Students should pay 13 yuan per person for delivery fee) Contact: teacher Xie. Tel: 67392471.
(3)Apply for Residence Permit: After passing the examination, the student can apply for a residence permit with a passport.
ØThe first step:go to the International College r814 office to receive medical results. Contact: Teacher Xie. Tel: 67392471.
ØThe second step: go to the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau Exit-Entry Administration for residence permit procedures.

Transportation: Take the subway to the Lama Temple Station then head to east and walking 1000 meters.

2. Students who hold X2 visa
Available to add the number of times of border entry during the time of registration.
3. Students with Stay Permits
Available to extend Stay Permits during the time of registration.
V. ORIENTATION

VI. THE OPENING CEREMONY
Time:September 8th
All new students will converge in front of the international student’s dormitory at 7:00. They will be conveyed to participate in the Beijing University of Technology 2017 new students opening ceremony.
VII. TEACHING ARRANGEMENTS

3. Elective courses
All new students will see the curriculum of the International Academy in the first week of the school calendar (September 4th-8th, 2017) at the College of International Education (the ninth floor of the fourth teaching building advertising column) and the Advertising Board of International Student Dormitory and Building No.12.
-Undergraduate students (Bachelor degree)
About the Chinese language courses (international college classes), although the students do not need to elect any courses in first year of study, the student should follow the classes schedule of the College of International Education. For the public courses and major courses (each majors’ college classes), the student schedules should according to the school education system(http://gdjwgl.bjut.edu.cn), students can also consult in the Institute of the academic Section.
-Graduate (doctoral and master degree)
Postgraduate students should communicate with the instructor in the first week (September 4th-8th, 2017) and determine the study plan (1) (i.e the first year of the course plan). The study plan will start from the second week of the school agenda. For the first semester courses, please check on the degree and graduate education system (http://yjsgl.bjut.edu.cn); students should input their study plan into the school degree and Graduate education system before September 30th. Please print three copies with the signatures of students itself and instructor. Student should keep one of the copy for itself, then give rest two copies to the office of the college of graduate students, and the office of the College of International Education.
-Non-degree program students
The second week (September 11th),students should follow the official classes schedule published by the College of International Education.
4. Buy textbooks
14:00-16:00, September 7th
Non-degree students are supposed to buy textbooks in the old library (Cash only).
Degree students are supposed to buy your books on your own with booklist.
5. Classes
All students should attend classes by the personal schedule on time:September 11that 8:00.
VIII. SENIOR TUTORS
For students to adapt to the life of Beijing University of Technology as soon as possible. The College of International Education has established a student “Senior Tutor” team for students to provide the necessary services for new students. IX. KIND REMINDERS
1. We recommend installing WeChat software on your mobile phone and follow the public micro signal: bjut_CIE for easy access to important notifications and information.
2. Please bring your own personal medicines, such as painkillers, antibiotics and so on.
3. According to personal preferences, prepare some long shelf life of food.
4. It is recommended to install Pleco, Hanping, Baidu Translator and other Chinese translation software on your mobile phone or carry a pocket Chinese-English dictionary.
5. Personal hygiene care products, such as razors, hair dryer and so on.
6. Please prepare the national flag and national clothing, easy to participate in some cultural activities.
7. Actively contact with the tutor and monitor in your class, or supervisor contact.
8. CIE will continue to carry out “Buddy program” and “Home visit program”. Please pay attention to the International Institute of WeChat public number, access to registration information.
9. CIE will continue to set up "Chinese proficiency improvement classes" for a semester, please students concerned about the new information.
